Meet Peter Brown (207-994-9885) at the Pavilion with the American flag, on the right as you enter the main parking lot of Siesta Key Beach. Learn to identify gulls, terns, and sandpipers as you enjoy a 1.5 mile walk on sand.
Meet up with Peter Brown (207-994-9885) and Mary Alice Curtiss at the Raymond Road Boardwalk. Explore the wetlands surrounding the boardwalk and visit the boardwalk. Parking on the side of the road.
Travel to the east end of Fruitville Road and join Helen King (850-556-2950) on a 2-mile loop walk through Old Miakka Preserve. You will be looking for woodpeckers, birds in flight, and a few migrant warblers. Be prepared to walk mostly in the sun. There are no restrooms on the site.
Peter Brown (207-994-9885) will meet you directly inside the entrance past the pay station. There is a $3 fee. Restroom facilities are available. This is a driving loop tour with stops to find Red-cockaded Woodpecker, Red-headed Woodpecker, Brown-headed Nuthatch, Bachman's Sparrow, and Eastern Towhee, among other birds.
